This place suits me perfectly with free Wi-Fi, free parking, and a relaxing sauna. I still remember how the staff helped me find my lost car keys on my first stay. I highly recommend it, and I’m coming back for Christmas!

    scenic views
    cozy lodge
    delicious breakfast
    jacuzzi issue

The scenic views from Eyjar Fishing Lodge truly captivated me. The cozy lodge atmosphere and its charming wooden décor made the stay incredibly warm and inviting. I appreciated the shared communal spaces, where I could enjoy a cup of excellent coffee, especially in the beautifully decorated sitting area overlooking the river valley and mountains. Breakfast was a highlight. the fresh and delicious options were cook-to-order, ensuring that every meal felt personalized. However, I encountered a bit of a bummer when the jacuzzi and sauna weren't functioning during my visit, which was disappointing as I was looking forward to some relaxation after a long day. Additionally, being so remote, it would have been helpful to have clearer signage to the lodge and some recommendations for nearby dining options, particularly since I did not encounter any other guests during my stay. Despite these minor inconveniences, my overall experience was cozy and enjoyable, driven by the serene setting and attentive service.

    family-friendly atmosphere
    scenic beauty
    delicious breakfast
    lack of outdoor activities

The lodge offered a charming, homey vibe, perfect for my large family with the kids. The complimentary breakfast was delicious, with options like fresh fruit and eggs cooked just for us! My hubby and I truly enjoyed the scenic beauty surrounding the place.

My children wanted more activities for kids outdoors.

    easy self check-in
    ample parking space
    warm cozy room
    small beds
    lack of blackout curtains

The self check-in process made everything so easy, and I loved the ample parking space available. The room I had, although a bit dated, was warm and cozy, allowing me to sleep well through the night. I especially appreciated the common dining hall where I could grab hot water and make myself a drink. The location amazed me with stunning natural surroundings, truly encapsulating Iceland's beauty.

    great breakfast

    Perfect for couples seeking adventure

The lodge is in a remote area, which was calm and serene. Breakfast was so good — ham and eggs, fresh fruits, and veggies! The owner even made sure we got bacon and eggs just for us! !

It wasn’t exactly cheap, but this is Iceland after all.

    remote location
    seamless check-in
    incredible lounge
    higher rates

The remote location of Eyjar Fishing Lodge provided a serene environment, and I appreciated the free Wi-Fi and parking. The check-in process was seamless as the owner was accommodating despite our late arrival, going out of their way to make us feel welcomed with our names on the doors of our rooms. The lounge was incredible, complemented by a wonderful selection of tea and coffee available at all times.

Rates were on the higher side.

    cozy room
    comfortable bed
    fishing-themed decor
    small room
    tricky directions

We stayed in a Double or Twin Room for one night, and it was super cozy and clean. The bed was comfy, so I slept great! Loved the fishing-themed decor. it gave the place a real charm. The communal dining area with a big table was cool for breakfast. Just a heads up, the room sizes are a bit on the smaller side, but it added to the snug vibe. I wish there were clearer directions to find the lodge. the roads were a bit tricky to navigate! But I really enjoyed the stay.
